FREE RESOURCES

Free local resources in progress.
Herbalista Free School - offers free, online education to help you along your herbal journey. Their hope is that the free sharing of herbs and education will help to cultivate a greener and more equitable world.

The Free School launched in February of 2022, offering free classes and coursework on a wide array of herbal subjects. From medicine making to herbal foot care, we work to share what we’ve learned over the years with the wider community, increasing herbal access for all.

The Free School offers both self-paced courses on the Teachable Platform and also broadcasts live Zoom classes. When new courses or classes are released, they post the links on their webpage and announce them to their socials.

Autonomous Apothecary - is a collective, grassroots effort to distribute plant based medicines free of charge. They operate from a mutual aid perspective of solidarity, not charity. They approach their work autonomously through individual contributions of materials, labor, and funds to support communities and individuals.

Rooted in Wabanaki territory (so called Maine), they are an all volunteer collaboration of herbalists, farmers, and organizers who believe that plant medicines have a critical role to play in our collective ability to survive and thrive during late stage capitalism. They believe that mutual aid combined with a reverent connection to the natural world that sustains all life is how we can co-cultivate a new world inside the shell of the old.

Solidarity Apothecary - Sliding-scale pricing for courses. No one turned away for lack of funds

The mission of the Solidarity Apothecary is to materially support revolutionary struggles and communities with plant medicines to strengthen collective autonomy, self-defence and resilience to climate change, capitalism and state violence.

This project is run by anarchist organiser and herbalist Nicole Rose (she/her) based in the Westcountry of England. As a herbalist, she focus on supporting people experiencing state violence. This includes prisoners, ex prisoners and their families, refugees and asylum seekers, organisers and defendants experiencing repression and more.

Outreach and herbalism are both most powerful when performed on a grass-roots level. Groundwork Herbs was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio and is starting micro-grant and resource sharing programs in the tri-state area of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky meet.
